Magnitude 8.9 Quake hits Japan

Earthquake, followed by Tsunami and then a string of figure and product delays. A magnitude 8.9 quake struck Japan today (Friday, 11th March) 80 miles offshore, followed by a tsunami that struck northeast shore of Japan. Let's wish for our Japanese comrades best of luck in overcoming the double tragedy. A chain reaction means west cost of USA , mexico, South America, and also Phillipines is likely to get a tsunami. My prayers goes to everyone affected.

Fancy A Trip to Japan?

And yes, you are given an opportunity. Aimst anime club members will be getting the opportunity to travel to Japan this July, which is actually a “study trip”. There is not much information yet as briefing will be done in our next club meeting, which the date and time will be announced in Facebook page of our club.

The exact date of the trip and price is still to be announced (but it’s within July), so stay tuned if you are interested. For current details, read on. Details and FAQs will be done during briefing, or post your FAQs in the comments section of this blog, or in our Facebook page.

1.The trip will be for 7 days.
2.The payment per person is between RM5000 to RM6000 (not fixed due to possible changes by airline and fuel hikes)
3.Must pay deposit of RM1000 once the 25 people are confirmed (confirm as soon as possible)
4.There is a compulsary team building session for 1 day (must be done at latest one week before departure)
5. Must give a suitable date as soon as possible

The exact story, is that, UniTen had organised a study trip to Japan for its students, which may have to do research and get their paper works done, but the trip was cancelled at the last moment, pissing off the organiser of the programme. Therefore, now, Aimst Anime Club members are given the opportunity to fill in the spaces and join the trip instead, a courtesy of Nabilah Amani’s parents’ friend, who is the organiser of the programme. A maximum of 25 students will get to go. Members who wants to join should contact Nabilah or me as soon as possible. Names are taken down on first come first serve basis.

The exact details of the trips and the locations we will be visiting is still unclear, but what’s guaranteed, is a visit to a University in Ogaki involved in Manga and Anime production. This may be a golden opportunity to some of you, especially given the chance to visit a University that doubles as a production studio. If this trip is indeed on and open for us, I’d like to thank Nabilah Amani for providing us the opportunity. =) Don’t leave your cameras behind!!
